Every inch of my small garage shop counts. So after restoring my vintage Rockwell jointer, I needed a good mobile base that packed a ton of functionality into a small space. I came up with the following design which include:
- Support arms which reach 72″ when fully extended
- Mobile base kit
- 2 Small drawers
- 1 large drawer with dividers for holding bandsaw blades and edge banding
- Dust collection hook up
- Open motor compartment
Overall, I’m very happy with the design and how the project turned out. I dd improve a few items along the way and updated the plans to reflect the changes. This design can be adapted to work with other jointers model and possibly other types of machines? Miter saw? Drill press?
If you build one, send in a picture to include here!
A very clever Jointer mobile cabinet project and videos. My Craftsman 103.20660 jointer from the 1950’s will also be mounted on a Bora PM1100 mobile base after it is restored. Retaining the original cast iron adjustable height jointer stand will require a completely different design but I will keep your design features in mind.
Awesome Roy, I’d love to see it when your finished!
